For the second year, Clair event-managed the Archbishop of York Youth Trust fundraiser gala dinner at one of Yorkshire’s most exclusive locations, Swinton Park. Attendees reported it was one of the most ‘Christmassy’ events they’d ever experienced!
On December 6, almost 100 people were wined and dined in the magical castle setting, with the beautiful Yorkshire Decibelles and Yorkshire Voices choirs singing in candlelight. The festive scene was captured beautifully by Cause UK associate, photographer Charlotte Graham, in the pages of the Saturday Telegraph. Society photos from the gala also feature in regional news and magazines.
The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu and his wife were in attendance. His Youth Trust is doing vital work in schools across the North. To date, it has supported over 73,000 pupils in over 600 schools to complete its Young Leaders Award, backed by TV adventurer, Bear Grylls.
The Award teaches leadership skills and values, supporting young people to volunteer and take positive social action within their communities. Mahatma Ghandi’s phrase, ‘be the change you want to see’ is the core value of the Youth Trust.
The charity is seeking to raise £202,500 to put 13,000 students through the award in 2018/19.
