At Cause UK, we don’t just represent good causes, we help promote good business too. Below are a few independent businesses in Yorkshire we’ve worked with.

As sisters, it’s always a joy supporting other family-run businesses.

We’ve done a couple of campaigns for Ogden of Harrogate, the jewellers with a remarkable 130-year history. Their shop is a treasure trove of stories, thanks in part to its founder James R Ogden, who travelled widely, and was fascinated with archaeology; he was one of the first people in over 3,000 years to enter the tomb of Tutankhamun, after valuing the gold for Howard Carter.

We told the story of their exhibition, Egyptomania, marking the anniversary, with huge local and national media coverage, including The Times and Sunday Times (news in pictures), The Archaeologist magazine, BBC News online, the Daily Mail, Yahoo News, Yorkshire Post and Sky News.

The evaluation tool, Coveragebook, calculated a remarkable combined total of publication-wide audience figures at 533M.

Harlow Consulting

Harlow Consulting is a female-led business, that puts its values in action – so naturally, we were a perfect fit.

We’ve helped position the agency as a leader in their field, announcing (regular) new recruits as the research team expands, with stories in business media such as Research Live, Startups Magazine and Business Insider.

Our comms work also champions their remarkable values and ethics, profiling their strong social and environmental values; stories include how the agency was recognised by World Land Trust for their corporate support, and how they consultancy has pledged to ‘give back’ to the environment and community.

We positioned a feature interview with the directors, Clare and Jennifer, in the Yorkshire Post: ‘Meet the female business owners making waves in the world of research’.

Work includes raising awareness of its research work, helping to engage target audiences to take part in its surveys, such as on Scotland’s Buildings at Risk Register, with bespoke stories in Scottish Housing News, the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland and Roofing Today. A Heritage England survey featured in trade publications such as Construction Index, Professional Builder and Roofing, Cladding and Insulation magazine.

Real Markets

On the run up to Christmas, we helped Real Markets spread the word about their new Ripley market, with a one-off Christmas special. Real Markets’ mission is to champion local, specialist and independent producers and makers.

We secured a four-page spread in the Yorkshire Post magazine profiling one of their exhibitors making and selling their own cider, using an ancient traditional recipe in the Yorkshire Dales.

Over 30 pieces of press coverage were achieved, in local media such as the Harrogate Advertiser, Stray Ferret, Your Harrogate, to further afield in Great British Life magazine, Manchester Evening News in their best Christmas markets to visit list, Yorkshire Live (as one of the most ‘instagrammable’ Christmas markets), Yorkshire Life magazine and Yahoo.

Coveragebook metrics reported a combined total of publication-wide audience figures at 20.3M.
