We’re thrilled that Clair, MD of Cause UK, has been shortlisted for the Institute of Directors (IoD) Director of the Year Awards 2020.

The finalists are drawn from across Yorkshire and the North East and represent the full spectrum and diversity of business and industry, from young entrepreneurs to experienced public and private sector leaders.

Clair has been shortlisted for the Social Value and Sustainability impact category.

Clair said: “It’s a real honour to be shortlisted for the Social Value category. I think the past six months has led to reflection across all sectors. It has made many re-evaluate and re-prioritise what’s important in life, including community and family, as well as the importance of nature and the environmental agenda. I hope post-pandemic, in the not too far future, the business world won’t need a separate ‘social value’ category in award ceremonies – as social value, placing people and the planet into the concept of profit and our business economy, will become the norm. I’m proud to work with businesses, social entrepreneurs and others who are already leading this agenda.”

The winners’ names will be revealed at a virtual awards event on 4 November. The judging panel was chaired by Simon Walton, managing partner at Berwick Partners/Odgers Berndtson, Leeds. Clair won the Institute of Directors (IOD) Award in 2014 for her work in the public/not for profit sector in Yorkshire and Humber.

Awards partners are CNG, Leeds Beckett University, Schroders Personal Wealth and Forward Ladies.
