Cause UK is expanding its service offer with a new Business UK PR service and Cause and Effect TV Productions.

Family-run agency we have established our reputation in the last decade representing charities, the public sector, social enterprise and the arts and we are proud to have raised over £1m for charity since 2010.

We have also established our own charitable enterprises and events. In 2011, we raised funds with Marco Pierre White to launch the Veterans’ Artisan Bakery at Catterick – a therapeutic bakery for veterans at risk of homelessness. Continuing our work with veterans, we help stage a charity concert with Gary Barlow, and last year were invited to a private meet with Prince Harry thanking us for our work supporting the Invictus UK Trials in Sheffield.

Our events include the Malton Dickensian Festival featuring Miriam Margolyes. In the past year alone, before lockdown we hosted events with Chris Packham, Brian Blessed, Steve Backshall and Ken Loach, raising awareness and funds for charities such as the Harrogate Homeless Project.

Managing Director of Cause UK, Clair Challenor-Chadwick, said: “We’ve worked with some incredible causes over the years. The pandemic has made us reflect on how we can use our creativity to support businesses to bounce back.”

The team, led by Clair and her fellow director and sister, Ann, has worked with businesses over the years, such as How Stean Gorge in Nidderdale and Besbrode Pianos in Leeds.

Clair said: “When we first worked with How Stean Gorge, we got them on TV and in national press. The owner Stan Beer said the buzz resulted in a 50% rise in visitor numbers over the winter. I think people often question what the power of PR is, but it can make a huge difference to a business’s bottom line. It’s the most affordable and high impact tool in the marketing mix. After getting Besbrode Pianos in Leeds on the BBC’s One Show, Look North, and other media, they reported a stream of new customers who said they hadn’t realised Besbrode Pianos existed but saw them on TV.”

Melvin Besbrode, owner of Besbrode Pianos, said: “Cause UK has done so much to promote and improve the image of Besbrode Pianos over the past three years that it’s almost impossible to calculate the good it done. Amazing.”

The team is also building on its speciality in TV work as they regularly pitch stories to major TV shows and documentaries on the BBC, Sky, Channel 4, and Channel 5.

Cause UK projects and clients have featured on shows such as BBC The One Show, ITV Good Morning Britain and This Morning, Sky news, Ch5 news, Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch, BBC Countryfile, Springtime on the Farm, Songs of Praise, and bespoke documentary programmes.

The teams new Cause and Effect TV services will also offer new film production services.

Clair added: “We are in the midst of an economic and social revolution as a result of the pandemic, and we are pivoting to meet clients’ needs. We are excited to be expanding.”
