Cause UK is working with the Genesis Research Trust on a new public relations campaign.
Genesis Research Trust is seeking women and men from across the UK willing to tell their stories.
We are open to hearing emotive experiences on four key areas of our research:
Why?
Founded in 1978, Genesis Research Trust, based at Imperial College London, is the largest collaboration of reproductive health researchers in the UK.
It is the only charity of its kind to lie consistently at the heart of original leading-edge research investigating why and how things can go wrong with conception, pregnancy and birth; delivering real evidence-based results for medical treatments and outcomes of worldwide significance.
Having already transformed the lives of many parents-to-be, we know that there is the potential to achieve far more and an urgent need to do so.
Hearing the challenges you’ve faced can help engage the wider public (and media) to raise awareness of the issues and the need for more research (and funding) into these issues that impact on the well-being of so many.
Research is fundamental, it’s likely our work has already had an impact on your life or someone you know. Anyone who’s had IVF, for example, has benefited directly from our research and the work of our founder and chairman, Professor Robert Winston.
Case studies need to:
We are looking for case studies from across the UK.
You will:
There are no right or wrong stories. We will always be sensitive in hearing your story. Your story could illustrate a wider need i.e. the IVF postcode lottery; ‘taboos’ around the grief of baby loss; confusion around fertility advice when it comes to potential treatments, diet or lifestyle; male voices not heard or listened to as ‘forgotten mourners’ or in relation to their experience with infertility/ IVF, etc.
Kindly see an example of a case study who has come forward in the past; the couple also appeared on a Ch5 News debate with Professor Winston on raising awareness for Baby Loss Awareness Week:

And an example of a news story raising awareness around IVF exploitation:

Your story is important to help our work and campaign for more research to reduce the risks and obstacles millions struggle with.
Please get in touch with ann@causeuk.com if you would like to take part to arrange an interview.
