Here at Cause UK, we’re still catching our breath from November, while looking ahead to Christmas.
November was a busy month for Cause client Key Fund with a flurry of activity around National Social Enterprise Day, including Senior Client Officer, Garry Brown taking part in a Live Blog for the Guardian Social Enterprise Network.
We also announced their Social Incubator North £2m fund was now open once more for applicants, featuring in the Yorkshire Post, Harrogate Advertiser, Harrogate News, Yorkshire Times, Guardian Social Enterprise site, and online.
Harrogate International Festivals launched their Sunday Spring Series, with coverage in Harrogate Advertiser, York Press and Harrogate News, as well as interviews with Julian Lloyd Webber set up with The Press and Yorkshire Post.
It was also the month David Suchet did pre-event press for ‘Poirot and Me: An Evening with David Suchet’ this December 10, at the Royal Hall, resulting in an incredible piece for the Yorkshire Post magazine’s Big Interview by Chris Bond, Steve Pratt’s interview focussing on that infamous penny in the Northern Echo and Graham Chalmer’s fantastic piece in the Advertiser.
The Festivals innovative year-round programme of events also hopped on the buses across the region with their ‘36 Storytelling Project’ with thriller author and Writer in Resident Julia Crouch, featuring in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Advertiser and Yorkshire Times.
For our client Riverside ECHG, we interviewed a homeless Veteran at Catterick’s The Beacon, for a piece in the Yorkshire Post due to be published in the next few weeks. The case study of Joseph Rafferty, a 42 year old Veteran who was homeless for two and a half years on the streets of York really highlights the crucial need of the work of Riverside ECHG, helping vulnerable Veterans back into Civvy Street.
Looking ahead, Cause UK is excited that War Horse is going to pay a visit to our other Veterans client, Broughton House in Salford, raising awareness of this unique and very special care home for elderly Veterans.
Cause UK also had a week of filming and website building for client, Leeds General Hospital, creating case studies and marketing collateral to launch a £2m fundraising campaign for a new Brain Research Centre for Leeds. Watch this space for more details in the coming months.
Stocking Fillers!
Also, just in time for Christmas, our Audio CD of A Christmas Carol, read by Selina Scott, is available to buy at our Dickens Gift to Yorkshire website. And if you fancy dunking a biscuit into your tea while listening to Selina’s dulcet tones this Christmas, why not order a pack of Rosemary Shrager’s biscuits and dunk and donate for the Veterans’ Artisan Bakery!
