‘Yorkshire Calling’ is a new musical extravaganza, directed by the mercurial Ben Crick – the north’s leading composer and the conductor of the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra.
Cause UK helped re-launch the newly formed Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra in 2021 with Ben Crick and events manager, Jamie Hudson.

‘Yorkshire Calling’ promises to be an epic celebration of the heritage, arts, and culture of Yorkshire. It takes place, suitably, on Yorkshire Day (1 August 2025) at the Iconic Bradford Live.

Bradford Live is the hotly anticipated new arts venue for the city. The historic 1930s Art Deco venue that seats over 3,000 has undergone a major restoration.
This landmark concert marks a major cultural moment for the region. Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra disbanded in the 1950s, only to be revived by Ben Crick after the pandemic to support northern musicians and give the north the musical voice it deserves.
Playing in an iconic venue, that’s also been saved and revived into a vibrant cultural offer, marks an exciting new chapter for the region.
Yorkshire Day, celebrated annually on 1 August, is a tribute to the county’s rich heritage, culture, and identity.
Established in 1975 by the Yorkshire Ridings Society, the day commemorates Yorkshire’s historic contributions, including its role in the 1298 Battle of Minden. Marked by civic events, parades, and displays of Yorkshire pride, it celebrates the county’s unique traditions, from its dialects and cuisine to its literary and industrial legacy.
