Science and Slime

Stockeld Park, one of the North’s leading family attractions and adventure parks, promises February fun this Half Term with a brand-new Science and Slime Week.

Dragons Den winners Sublime Science will host daily workshop style shows from 15 to 23 February.

The award-winning Sublime Science team, headed by geeky scientist Mad Marc, wowed the Dragons on the BBC show for their concept to revolutionise children’s events. It promises to be a fun-filled, action-packed experience with spectacular science featuring plenty of slime, smoke, bubbles, flying things and a few surprises. Show times are 12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm and will run for 35 minutes.

Also, this Half Term there’s the chance to join in organised activities, including arts, crafts, den building, forest walks and building your own teddy, with the Stockeld Rangers.

Darren Smith, Events and Entertainment Manager at Stockeld Park, said: “There’s always something extra to do when you head to our adventure park. It’s all about ensuring there’s endless family fun, adventure, and the chance to do something completely different. While children are entertained and enjoy our adventures and the fresh air, parents can relax in the grounds of our beautiful ancient woodland.”

Entry includes a wide-range of activities at Stockeld Park, nestled in the stunning 2,000-acre Stockeld Park Estates.

Highlights include the Enchanted Forest, featuring Russell the Talking Tree, a Teepee Encampment playground, the Tangle Tree Climb, zip wires at the Spider’s Lair and swashbuckling fun at Woodsands Cove.

Magical Maze

There’s also the Magical Maze – the largest evergreen maze in Yorkshire – a two-mile labyrinth designed by maze genius, Adrian Fisher. The unique maze made from 2,000 yew trees features a castle viewing tower, bridges, playful surprises and unexpected obstacles along the way, with a revolving stainless-steel globe sculpture at the heart of the maze.

Other activities include indoor play and crafts for rainy days with a giant indoor jumping pillow and inflatable slide and mini-arcade for gaming fun. The park also offers the Laser Adventure, an outdoor laser tag gaming experience suitable for children aged seven plus.

Science and Slime workshops are available to all Park Entry ticketholders and run daily from 15th – 23rd Feb 2020: 12pm, 1.30pm & 3pm. Tickets just £5 or £2 per child when booked online; supervising parents and under 2’s free: stockeldpark.co.uk
