The Northern Aldborough Festival starts this Thursday (13-22 June).

We’ve been busy looking at quirky PR angles, as well as profiling its headline act.

One unique PR approach was interviewing two Cambridge University archaeologists on their work in the festival village, Aldborough, that has incredible Roman heritage.

It resulted in a feature in the Yorkshire Post tying in this year’s keynote speaker, Time Team’s Sir Tony Robinson.

We also fixed up a Saturday magazine feature interview in the Yorkshire Post with Sir Tony, and secured a great interview with him on Scala Radio to plug his event.

This approach also led to a story that caught the media eye, ‘Bring Me Wine!’ showcasing Aldborough’s unique links to music and vino, tying in wine expert Oz Clarke who is narrating Armónico Consort’s concert at the festival. Read it here.

We’re also pleased to get the festival into The Star’s ’12 festivals to look forward to’ this summer, in BBC Music Magazine’s 2024 Festival Guide, as well as being one of Country Life magazine’s ‘Unmissable Events’ in their June edition.

New Voices judges with last year’s winner, Lea Shaw

Their New Voices Singing Competition featured in Classical.music.uk, Gramophone, and last year’s winner soprano Lea Shaw was chosen as a BBC Music Magazine Rising Star, and was also profiled in the Yorkshire Post.

Northern Aldborough FestivalWhat’s more, we secured the festival’s director, Robert Ogden, on Times Radio culture show, and a leading profile in the local paper, the Harrogate Advertiser.
