Nidderdale AONB

Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a landscape so special it’s protected for the nation.

Cause UK is once more working with the team in 2019 and their mission to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the landscape.

The AONB team works with the local community, conservation organisations, local authorities, government agencies, landowners and farmers.

It works on areas including landscape management, archaeological digs, heritage projects, rural tourism, walking guides and nature events. Work has included business advice for farmers to be Brexit-ready, restoring hay meadows, planting trees and supporting tourism and nature initiatives such as NiddFest and the Dark Skies Festival.

We provide copy writing for its events, newsletters, annual Visit Nidderdale brochure and PR campaigns (hedgehogs are next!), with media profile to encourage more to engage with, and be custodians of, this very special countryside and its wildlife.

We also work to promote its Citizen Science project, The Wild Watch, whose work informs vital conservation strategies.
