Music industry top vocal coach to tour the UK with a unique Arts Council funded choral project
In 2015 Cause UK will be working with Juliet Russell, singer, songwriter and vocal coach to the Stars who will be touring the UK to create unique choral performances.
Funded by the Arts Council, Juliet will work with choirs and singing leaders from varied backgrounds and communities including young people with autism and aspergers, refugees as well as older people with dementia and limited mobility. Juliet will orchestrate 15 unique performances from her new album, ‘Earth Meets Sky’ and collaborate with choirs in 15 major towns and cities across the UK. She will bring the very best musicians together as her support team.
Juliet Russell has coached Grammy, Oscar and Mercury prize nominees and is currently a vocal coach on BBC1’s The Voice. She has also coached X-Factor finalists, a composer and performer in her own right, she has collaborated with Damon Albarn, Paloma Faith and Yoko Ono.
Juliet said, “I have collaborated with some incredible artists and have been singing and composing for 22 years, I now want to share my expertise with diverse community choirs and to challenge myself further. I am a strong advocate for using singing to help promote emotional well-being and health. Singing helps to bring people together from all walks of life, helping to reduce social exclusion and isolation. ”
Audiences and choirs are in for quite a treat. Juliet will be using the music from her new album, ‘Earth Meets Sky’ and working with each choir on creating a unique live performance which will be filmed and broadcast throughout the tour on social media.
Joe Bibby, from NOW UK magazine said of Juliet, “Seeing Juliet Russell on stage, you can’t help, but feel you’re witnessing the birth of a legend. That this is one of those festival moments that people will talk about for years (and pretend they were at). Juliet’s soaring voice has everyone in rapture.”
Clair Chadwick from Cause UK, said: “We are thrilled to be working in collaboration with Juliet and shouting about her as a performer and composer in her own right.”
