Cause UK is delighted to be working with Harrogate International Festivals this year. It has an economic impact of £8.2m in the town, and is growing year on year.
The 2013 line-up includes the Raworths Literature and Lecture Series and the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival.
To date, Cause UK has put author Joanne Harris on the sofa on BBC Look North, authors Martyn Waites and Susan Hill on BBC Breakfast’s sofa, lined up a whole host of acts for the BBC Radio Leeds hour-long One to One slot, and BBC Radio York’s ‘Getting to Know You’ feature, including authors David Mark, Cathi Unsworth, Martyn Waites, Richard Madeley, Stuart Maconie and Ann Widdecombe.
We’ve also set up features with The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Daily Mail and been covered in The Observer, The Sun, set up interviews on Claudia Winkleman’s BBC Radio 2 Show and Simon Mayo’s Book Club, and Radio Four Front Row.
In addition, we wrote weekly double page spreads and news stories for the Harrogate Advertiser, interviewed Lee Child for Yorkshire Life magazine and Richard and Judy for Chic Magazine, and set up features with Sir Tim Rice, David Mark, Ann Widdecombe, Ann Cleeves, Lesley Garrett, Mark Billingham, Val McDermid, Lianne La Havas and Lauren Beukes in the Yorkshire Post, Northern Echo and York Press. We also had a column for the Yorkshire Times, who interviewed a host of acts including Richard Madeley, Val McDermid, SJ Parris, Stuart Maconie and many more.
