We were delighted at Cause UK HQ to do a ‘one-off’ campaign to help launch the profile of a Rhian Kempadoo-Millar, who has re-invented Yorkshire’s traditional flat cap for the 21st century.

Rhian was supported by our client the Key Fund and its ‘Creative Industry Finance’ scheme, which is delivered in partnership with the Arts Council England.

We drafted a PR and marketing strategy for Rhian, advising her on her website, PR, social media and marketing. Rhian said her dream model was Lianne La Havas. It became a quirky assignment as we arranged for her to drop off one of the specially designed hats for the pop star in her dressing room.  The hope being La Havas would ‘tweet’ about her to her tens of thousands of followers. It resulted in Rhian tweeting a picture of La Havas in the pub wearing her hat, after they ended up going for an after-show drink!

As well as getting her hat on pop stars, we helped arrange a feature in the Yorkshire Post. Not only did her hats get a special photo-shoot with the paper and four pages in their magazine, Rhian became the magazine cover girl.

Next year, Vogue!
