Matilda Firth, 10, from Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire shared a red carpet with Hollywood stars last Thursday night (28 November) for the London premiere of her latest movie, the Sky Original Christmas film, Tinsel Town.
The much-anticipated Christmas extravaganza stars the Emmy Award-winning Kiefer Sutherland (Designated Survivor, 24) and actress, writer, and producer Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect, JoJo Rabbit) in the lead roles. Matilda is in a star role as Kiefer’s daughter.
Tinsel Town became a media sensation in Yorkshire as local news and residents followed the set across Knaresborough, Wetherby, and Leeds, triggering ‘Kiefer Sutherland fever.’

The film will launch on Sky Cinema at Christmas.
Matilda will be joining Kiefer Sutherland, Rebel Wilson, and Teddy Williams (Robbie Williams and Ayda Field’s daughter, who makes her screen debut in Tinsel Town) at the premiere.
During filming, local news reported on Sutherland’s trips to a local fish and chip shop and reportedly enjoying a Greggs. A spoof blue plaque also went on display in Knaresborough to commemorate actor Danny Dyer’s visit to the market town.
Matilda said: “Working on a Christmas movie is so magical. I felt so lucky being able to work with Kiefer and Rebel – and all the amazing cast – I learnt so much from them during my time on set. I love singing, so having the opportunity to record some songs for the movie was just amazing. Our family goes to see a pantomime every Christmas, so I loved the pantomime in this film – the set for the theatre and the costumes, especially for the pantomime dames were just amazing. Between takes, there was a really lovely atmosphere, we were doing TikTok dances and generally having a good time.”
At just 10, Matilda who lives in Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire, is already something of a film and TV veteran.
She played the role of Ginger in the 2025 American supernatural horror movie, Wolf Man, alongside the Golden Globe nominated actor Christopher Abbott and Emmy winner, Julia Garner.
Matilda also played the character Isla Peretti in the 2024 sci-fi feature film Subservience opposite Megan Fox, with past film roles also including 2022’s Disney film Disenchanted starring Patrick Dempsey.
Her TV roles include acting parts in Sky TV’s Christmas Carole, Channel 4’s Hullraisers, BBC’s Time, ITV’s Mr Bates Vs Post Office and the second series of Nicole Kidman’s Hulu series, Nine Perfect Strangers.
Articulate Agency, which is based in Shipley in West Yorkshire and has a reputation in supporting children and young acting talent, has represented Matilda since she was just three. Matilda has filmed all over the world, including Spain, Bulgaria, Prague, and New Zealand.

Founded in 2013, Articulate Agency works with the top UK and US casting directors, producers and show runners to secure high-profile, career-making roles, including major Hollywood opportunities.
Stacey Burrows, founder and director of Articulate Agency, said: “It’s a privilege to secure such transformative opportunities for Matilda, she has remarkable skill and acting ability for her young age. Matilda is also calm, measured and has her feet on the ground, and I think her Yorkshire roots are to thank for that.”
In Tinsel Town, Kiefer Sutherland plays Bradley Mack, a failed Hollywood action star who ends up in a small, snow-dusted village to star in the town’s eccentric production of Cinderella. Here, he encounters a colourful cast of oddball locals who slowly come to hold a special place in his heart, including no-nonsense choreographer Jill, played by Rebel Wilson.
The cast also includes comedian Katherine Ryan (The Duchess) as Mack’s long suffering agent with the local villagers played by the legendary British actor Derek Jacobi (Gladiator II), Mawaan Rizwan (Juice), Maria Friedman (Unforgotten), Jason Manford (Waterloo Road), Asim Chaudhry (People Just do Nothing) Danny Dyer (Rivals), Ray Fearon (Barbie), Alice Eve (Star Trek In To Darkness), Lucien Laviscount (Emily in Paris) and James Lance (Ted Lasso) with Meera Syal (The Wheel of Time), taking on the role of the productions’ director.
The film was written by Frazer Flintham, Adam Brown, and Piers Ashworth with additional material by Jake Brunger, and directed by Chris Foggin (Bank of Dave).
Tinsel Town will be coming to Sky Cinema for Christmas 2025.
