Cause UK was proud to support this year’s CrimeFest, the UK’s biggest crime fiction convention. CrimeFest returned after a two-year hiatus, due to Covid, and was a sell-out event hosted at the Mercure Grand Hotel in Bristol.
We told a number of stories on its community and outreach work, including gifting books to schools and libraries, as well as raising profile of the event.
The convention featured in Best magazine, with a two-page spread feature in the Daily Express on featured author, Andrew Child and a piece in the Guardian for the Jack Reacher author. We fixed up an interview with Ann Cleeves in Bristol Magazine, and secured various stories in trade media, including the Bookseller, and local press, such as the Bristol Post, as well as with dozens of crime fiction bloggers.
In fact, we gathered 107 pieces of coverage on the event, which our Coveragebook estimated as an audience of 302 million online readers.
Social media was also busy over the weekend event, with 11k impressions per day over on Twitter, and an engagement of 1,261 on its Facebook page across the convention.
We were also busy sending out the CWA Dagger Shortlist which was announced on the Friday night of the convention, followed by the CrimeFest 2022 Awards on the Saturday night.
The Crimefest Family with Dame Mary Perkins.
It was great to attend the event in person, and see old friends and meet new ones too!
Sponsored by Specsavers, the co-founder Dame Mary Perkins attended the convention and praised it for its sense of ‘family’- she also announced a further three-years support for the event.
