Case Study

Cause UK teamed up with UnLtd The Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs in its mission to support social entrepreneurs to change the UK for the better.

Throughout 2015 and 2016, Cause UK provided PR & communication training workshops in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Bradford and Manchester to fledgling businesses that have won UnLtd awards.

Cause UK MD and founder Clair Challoner-Chadwick said: “We specialise in highly effective PR, campaigns and media training for charities, social enterprises, the arts and like-minded businesses. As a team of highly motivated marketeers, fund-raisers and journalists with bags of experience. we work across the UK putting good causes on the agenda. Building a profile and effective messaging is vital for early stage entrepreneurs. Our day sessions, insider tips and PR toolkits equip them with the skills to promote their businesses and be seen and heard. UnLtd share our social values, so we were delighted to offer our expertise and training to help social entrepreneurs get the start they need to thrive.”

UnLtd is the leading provider of support to social entrepreneurs in the UK and offers the largest such network in the world. It invests directly in individuals and offering a complete package of resources from awards of funding, to on-going advice, networking, practical support and training.

“The training also helps them identify their own goals and aims. We have received excellent feedback from all the people who have attended one of Cause UK’s courses.”

Sarah Griffiths was an UnLtd delegate at a Cause UK training day in Birmingham. Her venture, Life Goes On, exists to address the isolation and loneliness often experienced by people affected by dementia through the loan of multi-sensory memory kits to care homes.

She said: “I have attended several PR and media courses over several years – this was definitely the best and much more effective – very useful. There were lots of very interesting insights, tips and good practice within the teaching and a good level of interaction with the delegates. It suited my needs as it gave a good general overview of PR and media with plenty of additional resources to look at. I just couldn’t believe how much hard earned knowledge and experience you have shared with us all.”
