Campaigns: On the Frontline

Putting the Lights On for vulnerable homeless veterans in the Centenary Year.

Campaign Case Study

Riverside Housing

We interviewed case studies to powerfully bring to life veterans’ stories and how Riverside helps turn lives around. By writing and placing features, we were able to ensure the sensitivities profiling vulnerable veterans were managed, with key messages embedded.

Features include the story of ex-commando Sean Percival Scott for the Yorkshire Post . His story later ran in the Evening Chronicle and Sean has been interviewed for BBC York radio and BBC Teesside. Sean’s story went national in the Daily Star.

Other features include ‘A Beacon of Hope for a new start’ the York Press, a Northern Echo Leader, the Daily Echo, Windsor Express and many others.

As well as generating traditional print and broadcast media, Cause UK actively tweets and writes bespoke newsletters to ensure these positive stories reach key stakeholders in the military.

Cause helped raise Riverside’s corporate profile in trade press such as Housing Excellence and reached new geographic targets, including Rochdale Online.

We helped launch the #LightsOnforVeterans campaign in traditional media and online, to raise awareness of homelessness in the winter months. Activity featured on BBC regional news, with bespoke films for Forces TV.

We also convinced broadcaster Peter Snow to take part in the #LightsOnforVeterans campaign narrating a bespoke YouTube film.
